What's new at Love My Health?

Welcome to our December Newsletter

Stay well over the festive season

‘Tis the season to look after yourself but how do we do that with all the expectations that come at this time of year?

Here are a few of our top tips:

Relax  - Plan in some relaxation time, even if it’s only 15 minutes a day, plan some time to think your own thoughts, gaze out of the window, take a bath. Many of us don’t have nearly enough relaxation where our brain can really settle without intrusion from someone else or a phone or TV. If you can make time to stand and stare then thoughts and feelings can begin to make more sense, muscles can relax, breath becomes slower, blood pressure can normalise.

Rhythm  - This might mean different things at different times, you might want to dance the night away or do something that enhances your own breath rhythm like yoga, walking, reading (it’s knitting for me). Notice when you feel more energetic, when you are more focused, more contemplative, when you need rest, and see if there is a regular pattern. If you can follow your own rhythms and utilise the different energies that you naturally feel then your day will flow better.

Revitalise -  What can you do to improve your vitality? Do you need to eat more fruit and vegetables, get outdoors, see more of family and friends, spend time on your hobbies? If you have been unable to do the things that re-energise you then make a plan to include some of these things over the holidays.

Rest - Make sure that you have enough sleeping time. If you’re used to “getting by” on fewer hours than you really need then try to plan for some more sleep. Waking after having had enough sleep is a pleasure we don’t always give to ourselves, could it be your gift to yourself?

Try to use the shorter, darker days to renew and rebalance so that you are ready for the Spring energies when they arrive in a few weeks’ time.

Holiday closing times

We will be taking some time out for our own restorative practices over the festive period and so we will be closing on 20th December and re-opening in clinic on 6th January.

With bright blessings to you and yours,
Keep warm, keep well, keep in touch!!
