We thought it would be helpful to share some homeopathic remedies that might be helpful for this time of year:
Apis melifica – great for bites, stings, heat rash, puffy ankles where there is redness and swelling.
Arnica – for bumps, bruises, injuries. A good general remedy to carry around for summer activities.
Arsenicum album – stomach upsets, food poisoning. Also anxiety, restlessness.
Belladonna – after effects of too much sun, temperatures, fevers, throbbing headache.
Catharis – for extreme sunburn with blistering. Also good for cystitis.
Carbo-veg – for heat exhaustion or fainting, wants to have air or to be fanned.
Hepar sulph – for infections or infected wounds where there may be pus and tenderness or hypersensitivity.
Hypericum – injuries that involve the nerves e.g. stubbed toes, fingers trapped in door or hit with mallet while putting up the tent.
Ipecacuahana – nausea and vomiting that doesn’t improve after vomiting.
Ledum – good for puncture wounds including bites.
Natrum muriaticum – holiday constipation.
Nux vomica – this remedy is ideal for over indulgences, including hangovers. Also stomach upsets.
Rhus toxicendron – stiffness after sitting or lying down that eases after moving (take before travelling and at the end of travelling).
Sol – sunburn and bad effects from the sun. You can also take it before going in the sun.
Urtica urens – for bite and stings that are stinging and very itchy.
