What's new at Love My Health?

Welcome to our November Newsletter

Operation Christmas Wellbeing

Our mission is to save Christmas for people who spend their time feeling uncomfortable and nervous because of gut issues.

People with gut issues have very many things to consider when they go out, and even when they stay in.

A typical social event for Jane, who has gut issues, goes something like this…

An invitation arrives and Jane has a mix of feelings – she would like to go out and have fun but there’s a dread of being unwell in public.

Jane arrives at the venue and immediately checks where the toilets are, and if they are private enough not to be overheard if she gets ill.

Jane scans the menu for food and drinks that will be ok for her but she realises that there’s nothing that will be suitable. Jane doesn’t want to cause a fuss so she orders as best she can.

She starts to feel unwell but smiles brightly because she doesn’t want anyone to know how she is feeling, then she discreetly heads for the toilets and hopes that no one notices how often she goes. She makes sure that she takes her handbag with her because she has spare underclothes, just in case.

The dress that fitted Jane so beautifully at the start of the evening now feels very uncomfortable, painful even, as the bloating and abdominal distension get worse.

As soon as decently possible Jane makes her excuses and goes home to the safety of her own bathroom and puts on her PJs, glad that the event is finally over.

But Jane’s gut issues are not over, she is ill all night, most of the following day and only starts to improve after that. And sometimes it can take days or weeks to feel well again.

Sounds horrible, doesn’t it? And it is. It’s also very, very common.

So our mission and Operation Christmas Wellbeing is to help identify which foods might be causing bloating, nausea, diarrhoea, wind etc so that people can feel a lot more confident when they are out and more relaxed at home.

If you know anyone who would like some food testing in Berkshire, Buckinghamshire or Devon then we’d be happy to help them.
